Beneath the Willow Tree.

The willow tree blows in the wind
Its hangs low brushing against the grass
Crows dive to the ground and stretch their wings
They feel the wind glide past them
Bugs swarm the tree
Family gatherings of 3
Thousand.

Deep within the ground
Beyond the confines of ants
Below the earth worms home
Tangled up in the tree roots
Where the soil is always moist
And the oxygen lacking
Lies a body of two
Their nutrients sucked dry
To keep the tree alive
Worms and insects eat Their eyes
Their skeletal figures screaming for help.
Eternally screaming for something that will never come.
